PlayFest 2023 kicks off with our All-Ages Cabaret! This variety show includes the TJB Youth Improvisers, as well as an array of local performances including dance, music, and more!

Eighteen the Day I Died

Eighteen the Day I Died is a one-man show created and performed by local artist and storyteller Brandon Price. The show tells the story of Brandon's workplace incident on his first day of work at age eighteen. It's a true, emotional journey where he takes the audience through the the day of the incident and highlights the ways it could have been avoided. Together, Brandon and the audience examine the injuries sustained and how they continue to impact him, his family, and everyone around him.

Please be aware that Eighteen the Day I Died contains material that is not suitable for young audiences. We offer the optional guideline of ages 16 and over.

Late Night Cabaret

PlayFest 2023 ends on a high note with our homegrown Late Night Cabaret! Join us after dark for an adults-only variety show featuring live music, burlesque, poetry, and more.

playfest 2022

In 2022, we introduced PlayFest, a one-day performing arts festival, featuring a cabaret-style variety show that included poetry, punk rock, improv, musical theatre, and more! We conceived PlayFest as an opportunity for artists to push boundaries and feel empowered to showcase their abilities in a safe, inclusive setting.

PlayFest 2022 took place on August 27 at the Centerfire Place Amphitheatre. Admission was pay-what-you-can, with all proceeds going directly to support Theatre; Just Because programming. The event was a success, with over 10 performances featuring more than 20 local artists and over $600 being raised in support of artist development.

PlayFest 2022 was made possible by the generous support of local arts champion Flett Manning Moore.
