Michelle Thorne | Director
Michelle is a multi-award winning Director, Producer, and Actor based in her home community of Wood Buffalo, AB. Recent directing credits include The Other Side of the Pole, and Steel Magnolias for Keyano Theatre Company, Fanny & Manny Tie the Knot, The Most Massive Woman Wins, and Louis and Dave for Theatre; Just Because.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of Lethbridge. She is co-founder and Artistic Director for Theatre; Just Because. She has also participated in the Wood Buffalo arts community as the Program Manager for Arts Council Wood Buffalo, regional representative for Alberta Drama Festival Association, and sits on the Board of Directors for Theatre Alberta.
Natalie Farahani | Stage Manager
Natalie has been involved in theatre tech for the past four years. Working with Keyano Theatre Company as an Assistant Stage Manager for Deathtrap (2013), A Christmas Carol (2014), A Few Good Men (2015), Into the Woods (2016), and The Other Side of the Pole (2016), as an Assistant Sound Technician for Cabaret (2015), and Stage Manager for The Odd Couple (2015), and Steel Magnolias (2016).
Jayme Barter | Assistant Stage Manager
Jayme is a grade 12 student at Holy Trinity Catholic High School and has been involved with Trinity Festival Productions such as Mulan, Grease, and When in Rome as an actor and choreographer. She has been recently involved in theatre tech with Keyano Theatre Company’s Into the Woods, and assistant stage managed a play in Theatre; Just Because’s one-act festival, For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls. This is the biggest project she has yet to take on as an assistant stage manager, and wants to thank Michelle Thorne and the rest of the TJB creative team for the totally radical opportunity!
Alexandra Durocher | Choreographer
Alexandra first appeared on the Keyano Theatre main stage as the Dutch Girl in Miracle on 34th Street when she was 10 years old. She has since performed in over 16 plays and musicals, including Marty in Grease, Roxie Hart in Chicago, a performer in the Vagina Monologues, Corey-Lynn Valentine in Fanny & Manny Tie the Knot dinner theatre, and Mylar in The Other Side of the Pole.
She earned her diploma in Visual and Performing Arts - Drama from Keyano College. She was also a Choreographer for Thickwood Heights Theatriks’ performance of Willy Wonka Jr, Cheepiyak Theatre’s performance of Urinetown, and is the Movement Coach for Theatre; Just Because' Play Series The Fantastic Mr. Fox this year.
Lyndsay Dolansky | Costume Designer
Lyndsay is the Head of Wardrobe and a Theatre Technician at Keyano Theatre since September 2015. Originally from London, ON she studied Technical Costume Studies at Fanshawe College, under skill professionals from Stratford Festival Theatre and The Grand Theatre London. Her training included pattern drafting, tailoring, millinery, dyeing techniques, costume history and backstage handling. As part of her education she completed her practicum with the Banff Centre Arts where she learned more of the industry from their Masters.
