Hanna Fridhed

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Originally from Sweden, Fridhed is an actor, director, and communicator, and she currently works as the Engagement Coordinator for Arts Council Wood Buffalo. She is proud to participate in the YMM arts as the Artistic Director of Theatre; Just Because, Secretary of the Board for Alberta Drama Festival Association (ADFA), and Secretary of the Board for Theatre Alberta. She was named one of the region's Top 50 Under 50 in 2016 by Balsom Communications/Your McMurray Magazine, and previously held positions as Vice-Chair of the Arts Council Wood Buffalo Board of Directors, and as the Chair of Arts & Entertainment for the Fort McMurray Food Festival.

You might have seen her in several Keyano Theatre productions, including Lend Me A Tenor (2019), Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii (2018), The Drowsy Chaperone (2018), A Christmas Carol (2017), Spoon River Anthology (2017), Run for Your Wife (2016), A Few Good Men (2015), Good Night Ladies (2015), and A Christmas Carol (2014). If you have attended any of the amazing Waypoints dinner theatres’, you might recognize her from Fanny & Manny Tie the Knot (2016), Awesome 80s Prom (2017), and AHOY! A Pirate’s Life For Me (2019).

She directed Two Eggs (2017), Roll Over, Beethoven (2018), and The Myths and Bricks Project (2019) for the Acting Out One-Act Festival, as well as SCABS (2016) and Evil Dead The Musical (2019) for Theatre; Just Because. She has received awards for Outstanding Director in 2017, 2018 and 2019, as well as Outstanding Production for Two Eggs in 2017.
