About the play: When a man is accused of abducting half a dozen cats, it's a simple open-and-shut case, even for a jury that's filled with oddballs like a dim-witted PR guy, a bickering couple, and a man obsessed with french fries. After all, every scrap of evidence indicts the accused. And yet, Juror #8, a wannabe lawyer, believes that the "Cat Burglar" is innocent! Will he be able to sway the other jury members? Or will they side with Juror #3, the only sane man in the room? 12 Incompetent Jurors is a hilarious parody of 12 Angry Men.

Playwrights' Corner

Theatre’ Just Because was proud to introduce the combination of the Quarantheatre Series and the New Play Development program with our new Playwrights’ Corner!

This free six week workshop helped playwrights develop their ideas among a group of their peers and encourage new playwrights to try their hand at writing. This workshop series was for anyone interested in developing their play, regardless of what stage of development it is in, or how much experience you have writing; all writers are welcome to join!

This series took place on Tuesdays from 7 pm to 9 pm for a duration of 6 weeks, beginning June 9, 2020.

I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Playwrights’ Corner! Samson is a great facilitator, and his feedback was both encouraging and challenging. Because it was my first time ever writing a script, Samson was able to guide me with his wisdom as an experienced scriptwriter and director. He helped me to assess my play honestly while equipping me the tools to become a better storyteller.

I enjoyed the group feedback and discussion, and found it stimulating and inspiring to bounce ideas around with other highly creative individuals. I highly recommend being a part of the Playwrights’ Corner if you are an aspiring scriptwriter!

About the play: Max can't seem to make sense of his life and struggles to get his life on track while being surrounded by his childhood friends, Lucca and Spoons, who are worried about his drug habits and recent mannerisms. And even though Max has the tools and skills to create a positive world for himself his life still seems to be spinning out of his control from his own hands.
